the countdown

folks, i’m seriously running out of time. we have less than 20 hours to go until we have to board the train and head to ghent for the big event tomorrow, and we still have some preparation to do, cables and adaptors to search, batteries to charge, data to transfer, a trip into town to buy camera tapes, then we have to load and save all our freshly prepared clips and animations and finally put together and test our setup, take it all apart again and pack it up safely into travelling cases. i need to prepare a little backup on the ipod in case both our laptops decide to crash at the same time (like at the last party, duh), and i’d love to get a few hours of sleep this night as well as a decent dinner today and breakfast tomorrow.
so i guess this has to be a quick and dirty post to make the best out of the next few hours.

i’m enjoying this immensely. working together with someone has been something in these past few years that i didn’t know i had missed all those years before. i have always been self-employed, working alone except for the time when i more or less “apprenticed” with my father, and that doesn’t really count. too much father-daughter business to compare with real work atmosphere.
still, i’m getting jittery about tomorrow. i guess you could call this stage fright, but since i won’t be performing on stage like an actor or musician but standing behind my laptop pushing pixels maybe it should be called screen fright.
i’m also worried about not being up to it. there’s a cold inside of me that won’t come out. i’ve been tired and nerveless lately and i know i will have to be awake and on my feet until daylight tomorrow night. worse, i feel pms coming and, knowing myself, should stay away from caffeine if i don’t want to risk a migraine. ack.
but there’s not much i can do about this right now, i guess i’ll just have to keep busy. wish me luck.
