news from the disaster area
i can’t believe it.
yesterday, in the middle of finishing our kitchen renovation, grischa broke his toe. the second toe on his left foot, to be exact. appearently he bumped into something while on bare feet and since his second toe is his longest toe, it took the full force of the impact. he claims this exact toe has been broken several times before, so maybe it breaks more easily now. there’s not much doubt it’s broken, it’s blue and swollen to almost double of its original size, he can’t move it and yesterday he didn’t even want me to breathe on it when i tried to have a look, let alone let me put something on it. he doesn’t want to go into emergency today but wants to see his othopedic doc tomorrow. as far as i know there’s not much you can do about a broken toe anyway, except maybe tape it so it stays straight.
oh well … now i have a hobbling hubby again. nothing new. our plans for visiting the art fair today are cancelled and i guess the post about our kitchen wall i had planned for today will have to wait until tomorrow …

Ouch! Nothing can be done, I’ve broken a little toe – after a few days it settles down.
