exciting news!

i am breathlessly excited. we are going to veejay at the “last warning” party in ghent, belgium on the 24th of november, like we did in 2006.

we had a good party there last year making visuals for skyfire sound and zion train but our spark was dimmed considerably due to the fact that we had performed in paris on the night before. i wasn’t exactly tired, i just could not stand on my feet any more, and my other half wasn’t doing much better – he was waiting for meniscus surgery at that time and wasn’t doing too good on his legs anyway. nevertheless, we had fun and the folks there were nice.

this time there is going to be a fantastic lineup and what makes me so giddy with joy is that we get to do visuals for alpha and omega. if you are not into reggae and dub music this will probably not mean anything to you, but for me it’s the most exciting news for ages.
they make very deep, spiritual roots and dub music with maybe a touch of ambient or triphop. their music is thick with mesmerizing reverbs and a heavy bass that runs through your whole body and lets your mind wander. you can listen to some of their stuff on their myspace site as well as on their home page.
for cover artworks they often use the style of old ethiopian church paintings, which fits perfectly into what we’d love to do for them. now we’ve started collecting clips, scanning images and making animations and i see a lot of work coming for the next three weeks.

and i want this to be good. i want us to be good. the best we’ve ever been.
